Often, a family’s first introduction to Little League® is in the Tee Ball program. Tee Ball is the entry level division for players, ages 4-6. The experience is grounded in fun, fitness, and fundamentals while also being a key to growing a child’s love for the game.

The Little League Tee Ball program provides volunteer coaches with everything they need to create an environment where players will learn the skills of the game, while having fun and staying active. Parents and legal guardians of Tee Ball players are crucial to the extension of the program, and their satisfaction is equally important to its success. The outreach and inclusion of this division sets the foundation for continued participation in the local Little League program.

Tee Ball players use bats and balls designated specifically for use in this division. The roster size for a Tee Ball team averages 7 to 9 players, with a season featuring one practice during the week, a game on the weekend, and alternating between a second practice or game during the weekday evenings.

Parents are strongly encouraged to become involved in this entry level of Little League. After completing a Little League volunteer application and passing a required national background check, parents may become involved in practices, and be eligible as coaches, managers, umpires, local league board members and other volunteer positions within the league.

A player who is league-age 5 or 6 (use the Little League Age Calculator to determine your child’s League Age for the current year) for the current season and has played a year in Tee Ball is eligible to participate in a coach-pitch division.

At the Coach Pitch level, the Manager or Coach serves as the pitcher for all innings. A safety ball will be used for Coach Pitch since this will be the first-time children will be pitched to versus hitting off of a tee. When necessary, coach may determine that a player should hit off of a tee to finish their at bat.

Prior to the start of the season, players registered in this division will be required to participate in an evaluation before being assigned to teams. Pending registration numbers at all levels, families with players league age 8 may be presented with an opportunity to "play up" into the next division--it is an opportunity for the player to be challenged further but is not mandatory. Players that participate full-time in our Minors division will be required to pay the additional fees associated with that division.

At the Player/Coach Pitch level, the player pitches from 42' at the beginning of each at-bat. Player will pitch until they have thrown a fourth ball, and then a manager/coach pitcher will replace them for the at-bat for all innings. A safety ball will be used for Coach Pitch since this will be the first-time children will be pitching to other players versus hitting off of a tee or coach pitch. 

Rosters average 9-11 players. Families should expect a season featuring one practice during the week, a game on the weekend, and alternating between a second practice or game during the weekday evenings. Some coaches may encourage additional practices beyond this.

Near the conclusion of the season, division coaches will select teams comprised of players league ages 7 and 8 to participate in special events games in the month of July. This is a merit based opportunity. Players are not required to participate, but this is an excellent opportunity for players and families to experience the thrill and excitement of more competitive baseball.

This age group will be for returning players or new players that are ages 9-14 (as of 8/31/2025). Depending on age, experience, and overall numbers, these players could be assigned to teams in Minors, Majors, Intermediate, Juniors or Seniors.

NOTES: Depending on number of registrations, age groups may be requested to participate in an evaluation session prior to team assignment. Date and time for the evaluation event "to be determined".

The Senior League Baseball Division is for boys and girls 14-16 years old, using a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches.

The local league has an option to choose a Tournament Team (or “All Stars”) of 14-16-year-olds from within this division (and/or from within the Junior League division), and the team may enter the International Tournament.

The culmination of the International Tournament is the Senior League Baseball World Series, featuring teams from around the world. All expenses for the teams advancing to the World Series (travel, meals and housing) are paid by Little League International.

After completing a Little League volunteer application and passing a required national background check, parents may become involved in practices, and be eligible as coaches, managers, umpires, local league board members and other volunteer positions within the league.

Challenger - Little League Challenger Division

Any individual with a physical or intellectual challenge may participate. If an individual can participate in the traditional Little League Baseball or Softball program with reasonable accommodations they should do so. The Little League Challenger Division accommodates players ages 4-18, or up to age 22 if still enrolled in school.

Senior Challenger - Little League Challenger Division

Any individual with a physical or intellectual challenge may participate. If an individual can participate in the traditional Little League Baseball or Softball program with reasonable accommodations they should do so. The Senior League Challenger Division accommodates players ages 15 and above (no maximum age).
